Cut everything else from your mind and concentrate on your own breathing. Notice the gentle rhythm - breathing in... breathing out... breathing in... breathing out. Now after breathing out - hold your breath. The rhythm is broken. Simple... you smile... nothing much to it. The seconds tick by.... still nothing. Hold on .... slowly you feel it coming - the urge to breathe in again. You resist. You feel your heart thumping a little faster.... you swallow and wait. Restlessness sets in... you brush it away. Beads of sweat now form on your forehead. You feel light headed... there's a tingling in you chest... your vision dims a little and there's a slight tremor in your fingers... your body fidgets and trembles. Your chest is now burning. Your body - every cell in it - craves... and something inside you snaps. You throw your head back and breathe in - gulping in the air! Molecules weighing 32 dalton race through your airways and flood your lung alveoli. They barge through the thin walls and rush into the blood, squeezing into the red blood cells. The depleted hemoglobin grasp the molecules and speed away to every tissue in your body where the hungry, exhausted cells grab them.... and spring to life again!

Oxygen is to your body what Christ is to this world and your life. Unfortunately people don't realize that. Here's a comparison that is simple but should open your eyes!
- Oxygen is present everywhere on earth. Christ too is omnipotent - infact he is present everywhere in the universe.
- Every cell in your body needs oxygen. Every person on earth needs Christ.
- You need oxygen every minute of the day. You also need Christ every minute of the day. Being a Christian isn't a part-time job.
- Oxygen is free! Accepting Jesus into your life doesn't cost you anything! All it takes is a simple prayer from your heart
- Oxygen is getting depleted from this earth due to pollution. What was 40% of the air we breathe is now about 20%. The number of people who don't follow Christ is increasing due to pollution of the mind.
- Although oxygen supports your life every second you don't realise how important it is most of the time and rarely thank it! Although Christ loves you every second of his life man is ungrateful and rarely thanks Him for His love and doesn't realize it's importance.
- Oxygen is in three forms - the O2 molecule which supports life, the free O radical which is a powerful cleanser and Ozone (O3) which protects the earth from harmful UV rays. God is in three forms (the Trinity) and he gives life, protects and washes you clean!
- Man has tried to think of an alternative to oxygen where life can exist but inspite of the best brains, the newest technology and lotsa money he hasn't found an alternative. Man has also devoted a lot of brains, time, technology and money to find peace, happiness and joy. There is no alternative to Christ.... it was that way at the beginning and it will be that way forever!
