… and God created woman!

I received this little snippet today and felt it was blogworthy.“The woman came out of a man’s rib – not from his feet to be walked on, not from his head to be superior, but from the side to be equal, under his arm to be protected, and next to the heart to be loved.”… and guess who I was thinking of when I read the last bit!

Stranded …. almost

Trichy – Karur – Namakkal – Dharamapuri – Krishnagiri – Salem – Hosur – Bangalore . 8 hours. An air-conditioned KPN volvo busThat was the combination and everything seemed set for a great weekend at Bangalore with my cousins and their 2 children. The hissing started at Krishnagiri (Don’t worry – this is not the Snakes on the Bus sequel to a famous movie!) and soon we were parked on the side of the road surrounded by trees and fields with the conductor underneath the bus and the driver on his mobile. After nearly an hour they decided that the bus was ride-worthy and we made it to Salem where they had a team ready to check out the huge…

The Power of Your Love

I’ve been experimenting with shooting a few videos on the digital camera. I shot these in Kumarakom when we saw nature at its best. Sunsets, backwaters, beaches, trees, clouds, water – these video clips were taken at a place called Kumarakom. Relaxing in natures lap away from work, stress and tension made us realize the true beauty of Gods creation! The video is set to the song “Power of Your Love” by Darlene Zschech and has the lyrics. Be blessed! For more videos visit:http://christianvideo.co.cc

Potters Hand

I’ve seen clay being fashioned into pottery on TV several times. This was my first live demo. We saw this in Kumarakom by a local potter. It was much more breathtaking seeing the real thing! It took about 10 minutes to transform the ugly lump of clay into beautiful pottery – deft touches of his hand, careful molding, a flick of his wrist and the transformation was complete. Each touch made it more complete and more beautiful. I couldn’t help but think of the bible verseIsaiah 64:8Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. And the song that sprang to my mind was Potters Hand“Take me,…

Kumarakom cruise

Vacation time!! Finally Becky and I were on the train to Kottayam and were picked up at the station by a cab and late in the morning we reached Kumarakom – the enchanting backwaters of Kerala. What followed was an amazing mixture of luxury, a feeling of royalty, merging one with nature and hours of just ogling at nature. Imagine 28 cottages spread over 17 acres of garden, canals and bridges. And then imagine – we were the only people there. We were treated like royalty! The cottages were quaint, the gardens lush green (in the middle of summer!) and the pool inviting. We felt like a King and a Queen with people to serve us food of our choice,…

A tough life

If you believe in something strongly and stand for it come-what-may it’ a fact that life wont be easy for you. You gotta be ready to stare death in the face – stare at humiliation, opposition, resistance and mockery eyeball to eyeball. I wonder if I have the strength and the guts and the courage to do that for something I believe in. Will my faith stand strong – or will it break like a dry twig? If I wanna make a difference….. I gotta be more strong…. till the end. This is how the apostles stood….. till their ends!Matthew Suffered martyrdom in Ethiopia, killed by a sword wound. Mark Died in Alexandria, Egypt, after being dragged by horses through the…

I’ve been doodling with Windows Media Player ever since Jitto told me about it when he was here. I decided to try and make a video presentation of asong I like a lot – Call on Jesus by Nicole C Mullen. Well the process took a lot more time than I expected and the end results are now blogworthy.I’m not embedding the video here as it usually slows down the pageloading. Unconditional Love

I participate in a few forums for discussing anything I want to and responding to queries that I can contribute to. I once posed this question on a forum:How did it feel when you held your first child after he/she was born? This answer touched me. I dont know this person at all but I hope she also understands Gods unconditional love through her experience. My first pregnancy was a nightmare of doctors telling me that my baby would be deformed, mentally inadequate, etc. etc. One specialist tried to convince me to give up the child at birth as the challenge of raising it would be costly emotionally and financially and there was no guarantee that it would live very long anyway….

Goodbye Pluto?

I’m not much of an astronomer. In fact I’m quite knowledgeless when it comes to anything beyond planet earth. Guess I’ve forgotten all the Physics I learnt in school. But recent debates about whether or not Pluto is a planet caught my attention. Ok, even now I can rattle off the nine planets in a row in one breath. And now I may have to remove that list etched in my permanent memory cells and relearn a different set it seems. It doesnt seem to be a new debate though. I picked up these links from 1999 about Pluto: 1. Is Pluto A Planet? Copyright 1998, John A. Stansberry 2. Ask an Astrophycisist (or however you spell that word!) I…
